SHC Learning Mentor (Road 2 Employment Project)

 Fixed term contract: August 2023 to March 2025

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join South Hill Centre’s successful team as an SHC Learning Mentor. Have you got a passion to help those furthest from the workplace? Do you have experience of working in a community based setting? Can you co-ordinate local services to help provide support for participants who face multiple barriers to employment? Are you able to work independently and in partnership? If this is you then we would like to hear from you.

South Hill Centre are looking for an enthusiastic, trustworthy individual to act as a project worker on the Step 2 Skills Countywide project ‘Road 2 Employment’. The job is for a maximum of 22.5 hours a week, Monday to Friday, however a job share will be considered if the appropriate candidates are found. Flexibility is also required/possible around exact working hours each day. Occasional evening or weekend work may also be required.

The role is aimed specifically at supporting vulnerable women in the community and the successful candidate will need to have experience of working with this group of clients.

 Key Responsibilities include:

  • To provide 1-1 help and support to individuals in a warm and friendly manner fitting with the Centre ethos.

  • To focus on supporting individuals on the path back into training, volunteering or employment.

This project is funded by the UK government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
