A big thanks to Octavius

South Hill Centre (SHC) send a huge thanks to Octavius Infrastructure (project/site management, labour and co-ordination), RECOM Surfacing Ltd (Tarmac and labour), CEMEX (materials donation) and Barao Recruitment (plant & labour for ground works) for their help in repairing the main entrance way to our car park.

A large dip in the road had appeared and was gradually worsening, becoming a real hazard to vehicles coming in and out of the South Hill Centre Car Park. Other parts of the roadway had also started to crack and were starting to become hazard to users of the entrance way.

A team of workers from Octavius and RECOM surfacing arrived on site at 8am on Saturday 23 September 2023 and by lunchtime had completed the necessary repair work, resurfaced the road, cleared the drains and left the site in a clean and clear state. A real credit to the organisations they work for!

Costs for the repair were fully covered by the the organisations mentionned above.

Jeremy Keeley, Operations Manger for SHC commented:

“It is amazing how much was achieved in such a short space of time. The car park entrance has been transformed and the work will enable us to continue the important work that we do in the community in a safe way. The financial and practical contributions offered by Octavius, RECOM resurfacing Ltd, CEMEX and Barao Recruitment are really appreciated and will make a huge difference to us as a small charity”

A huge thanks must also go to Sarah O’Mahoney from Octavius who along with the Site Manager Dean, arranged for this all to happen for us.
